Mohali changes relaxation timings for shops from May 5 onwards

Mohali DC Girish Dayalan on Monday said that the shops and other commercial establishments in the district will open from 9 am to 1 pm from May 5 onwards on a 50 percent staggered rotation. He added that the banks shall also do public dealing between 9 am to 1 pm.

He said in a tweet: "In line with the directions of the State Government - Shops and other commercial establishments will open from 9 am - 1 pm from tomorrow on 50 percent staggered rotation. Banks shall also do public dealing in this window. Detailed order soon."

Earlier, he had said in a tweet: "The registration change in timings for shops and further relaxations to be considered - we will make required changes once instructions are received from the State. As of now, the status quota - relaxations only as previously allowed."

In Chandigarh, the Shops have been allowed to open from 10 am to 6 pm on odd-even formula. Meanwhile, the UT Adviser Manoj Parida asked the people to not crowd the markets. The delivery by government bus of fruits vegetables will continue for a few days till rehriwala/mobile cart vender sell is streamlined.

He also appealed to the shopkeepers to "Please keep sanitisers available for use at entrance. Do not allow customers to enter without masks. Encourage payment by card than cash."
