Amarnath Yatra 2026 to begin from July 3, registrations to open from April 15

Registrations for the yatra will start from April 15, with both online and offline options available for devotees across the country.

Amarnath Yatra: The annual Amarnath Yatra will begin on July 3 and end on August 28, which coincides with the festival of Raksha Bandhan. The 57-day schedule was announced by the office of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha after a meeting of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.


Registrations for the yatra will start from April 15, with both online and offline options available for devotees across the country. Pilgrims can reach the holy cave shrine through two routes. The traditional route starts from Nunwan in Pahalgam and covers about 48 kilometres via Anantnag district. The second route is shorter but steeper, covering 14 kilometres from Baltal in Ganderbal district.


“The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra will commence this year on 3 July 2026 and conclude on Raksha Bandhan, 28 August 2026, spanning a total of 57 days. The Pratham Puja, to invoke the blessings of Lord Shiva, will be held on Jyeshtha Purnima, 29 June 2026,” LG Sinha’s office posted on X.



Authorities are expected to make detailed arrangements to ensure the safety and smooth travel of pilgrims during the yatra.


Every year, the journey to the Amarnath Cave attracts thousands of devotees, reflecting deep faith and devotion. With growing excitement, officials are preparing to ensure the yatra is conducted smoothly.
