Ambala building collapse: At least six workers were killed and several others injured after a three-storey building under construction collapsed in Ambala’s Dhulkot village late Monday evening. The building reportedly gave way while workers were pouring the concrete slab on the third floor.
Around 40 to 50 workers were believed to be present at the site when the structure suddenly began to shake and collapsed, trapping several people under the debris.
As soon as information about the incident reached the authorities, senior police and administrative officials rushed to the spot along with rescue teams. Excavators, JCB machines and other equipment were pressed into service to clear the rubble and search for those who may still be trapped.
Officials said the immediate priority was to rescue people from beneath the debris and shift the injured to hospital for treatment.

Six workers confirmed dead
The deceased have been identified as Rajinder Kumar (50), Kalia Ram (48), Shastri Ram (50) Roop Singh (55), Malkit Singh and Ramji Das.
Local residents and Dial 112 teams joined the rescue operation and pulled several workers out of the rubble. At least 10 injured workers were taken to Civil Hospital, Ambala City.
Building reportedly being constructed as a warehouse
According to information, the three-storey structure was being constructed by a prominent property dealer from the city. Local residents said the building was intended to be used as a warehouse.
However, it has not yet been established whether the construction had received all the required official approvals. Authorities are expected to examine the matter as part of their investigation.
The collapse triggered panic in the surrounding area, with police, administrative officials and rescue personnel continuing operations at the site.
Once the rescue and relief work is completed, authorities will investigate what caused the structure to collapse and whether any construction-related lapses were involved.
