Chandigarh Police recover suspected IED near Sector 43 bus stand, three arrested
Following the recovery, an FIR was registered at Police Station 36 and security arrangements were tightened in the area as investigative agencies examined the recovered items.
PTC News Desk: The Chandigarh Police on Sunday recovered a suspected Improvised Explosives Device (IED) near the Sector 43 bus stand. The IED was found packed in a tiffin bag and was spotted by an onlooker.
Soon after receiving the information, police along with bomb disposal squad reached the spot and cordoned off the area. Forensic teams were also present at the spot. Following the recovery, an FIR was registered at Police Station 36 and security arrangements were tightened in the area as investigative agencies examined the recovered items.
"In a major operation, the police recovered suspicious items from behind the Sector-43 bus stand in Chandigarh. Chandigarh Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the case. The police have registered an FIR and initiated an investigation. Security arrangements at the site have been tightened, and investigative agencies are examining the recovered items. The investigation is currently underway, and the police may share further details regarding the matter soon," Chandigarh Police said.
