Delhi model murder: Gym trainer arrested after brief chase, exchange of fire in Rajouri Garden
Police said he was shot in both legs during the exchange of fire and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
PTC News Desk: Police have arrested a gym trainer accused of stabbing a 21-year-old Delhi model to death inside her home on Wednesday.
The accused, identified as Imran, was arrested after a police encounter in Delhi's Rajouri Garden area on Thursday night. Police said he was shot in both legs during the exchange of fire and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
According to police, Imran allegedly killed Muskan after becoming angry over her speaking to another man.
Investigators said Muskan had known Imran for around 18 months, and the two had reportedly met at a hotel on August 20. Police said Imran had been upset with her for nearly two months because she was allegedly talking to someone else.
On Wednesday evening, Imran allegedly went to Muskan's home in Tilak Nagar while she was alone. The two reportedly had an argument, following which he attacked her several times with a knife and escaped from the spot.
CCTV footage showed Imran entering the building at around 5:40 pm, according to a police source. After the murder, he went into hiding, prompting police to form several teams to track him down.
Police said Muskan was a second-year student at Delhi University's School of Open Learning and lived with her family in a building near Mangla Hospital in West Delhi.
The crime came to light when a domestic worker found Muskan seriously injured and lying in a pool of blood on the second floor of the house. She immediately informed the family.
Muskan was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival, police said.
