Gujarat: Bride dies of heart attack; kin marry off her younger sister to groom

PTC Web Desk: A pall of gloom descended on two families when a bride died of heart attack during her wedding rituals in Gujarat's Bhavnagar. The deceased has been identified as Hetal.

Later, the family married off her younger sister to the groom, Vishal. The bride's body was kept in cold storage until all rituals were over. The incident took place in front of Bhagwaneshwar Nahadev Temple in Bhavnagar.

It is learnt that Hetal reportedly felt dizzy and fainted. She was taken to the nearby hospital, where doctors said she died of a heart attack.

Even though the family was mourning the death of their elder daughter, relatives convinced them to continue the ceremony and instead marry off  their younger daughter to Vishal.  

Corporator of Bhavnagar city Laxmanbhai Rathore described the incident as unfortunate.
