Several injured as protesters breach barricades, reach Parliament police station; Dipke says, 'No One Can Stop Us'
PTC Web Desk: The first day of the Monsoon Session of Parliament witnessed high drama in the national capital as supporters of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) clashed with the Delhi Police during the party's proposed 'Chalo Sansad' march on Monday.
Thousands of protesters gathered to demand action over the alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and sought the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. As crowds attempted to move towards Parliament despite restrictions, the Delhi Police intervened and used lathi charge to disperse sections of the protesters.

Police tighten security across Central Delhi
Ahead of the protest, the Delhi Police had refused permission for the march and imposed prohibitory orders in key areas of the city. Authorities had already warned that action would be taken against anyone participating in an unauthorised gathering.
To prevent further escalation, mobile internet services were suspended in parts of Central Delhi. Security was also stepped up around Parliament and other sensitive locations.
Five Metro stations closed
As a precautionary measure, Delhi Metro temporarily closed five stations near the Parliament area. Rajiv Chowk, Janpath, Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat and Seva Teerth stations remained shut until further instructions from security agencies.
CJP appeals for peace
Despite the clashes, the Cockroach Janta Party urged its supporters to remain peaceful. In a message shared on social media, the party appealed to protesters not to react to restrictions and asked them to continue their agitation peacefully, saying the movement would succeed only through non-violence.
Why is CJP protesting?
The protest centres around alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, particularly the NEET medical entrance test. Demonstrators are demanding accountability for the reported paper leak controversy and reforms in the examination system.
The party is also pressing for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the issue.
How the movement began
The CJP was launched in May by Abhijeet Dipke as a satirical digital movement after remarks made by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant referring to "parasites" and "cockroaches" sparked widespread discussion online.
The campaign quickly gained traction on social media, attracting support from opposition leaders, activists, artists and several public figures.
Dipke, who had been living in the United States, returned to India in June to lead protests demanding reforms in the country's examination system.
Sonam Wangchuk's hunger strike
Education reform activist Sonam Wangchuk later joined the campaign and began an indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar on June 28.
Last week, the police shifted Wangchuk to a hospital after citing concerns over his health. In a handwritten note released from the hospital on Monday, Wangchuk said he would end his fast only if the government accepted responsibility for the alleged examination failures or if Members of Parliament and leaders from different political parties assured him that the issue would be raised during the Monsoon Session.
