Private bus on way to Jodhpur from Jaisalmer catches fire; over 10 passengers injured

PTC Web Desk: A private bus travelling from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur caught fire on Tuesday afternoon near Thaiyat village, triggering panic among the passengers. Initial reports suggest that around 10 to 12 persons suffered burn injuries in the incident.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus had left Jaisalmer around 3 pm as per its regular schedule. When the vehicle reached near Thaiyat village, smoke was seen coming from the rear portion. Within minutes, the entire bus was engulfed in flames.
Local villagers and passersby immediately rushed to assist, helping to evacuate passengers and informing the fire department and police. The injured have been shifted to Jawahar Hospital in Jaisalmer for medical treatment.
Authorities are yet to ascertain the cause of the fire, and an investigation has been launched to determine what triggered the blaze.
