Non-Bailable Warrant Issued Against Choreographer Remo D'Souza

A Ghaziabad court has issued a non-bailable warrant against Bollywood choreographer and director Remo D’ Souza in connection with an alleged case of fraud. The warrant, issued by additional chief judicial magistrate Mahendra Rawat, will be served in Mumbai after taking permission from Inspector General of Police, said DSP, Meerut Zone, Atish Kumar.

As per law, he said, permission is required to serve warrants in other states. The complaint was filed by Satyendra Tyagi, a resident of Raj Nagar, Ghaziabad. He alleged that in 2016, D’ Souza took Rs 5 crore from him to finance his upcoming film titled ‘Amar Must Die’. He said Remo promised to “double” the investment and return Rs 10 crore to him after the release of the film.

The complainant said he has not returned the money yet. Also, he said D’ Souza failed to appear in court after the issuance of the non-bailable warrant. Remo D’ Souza is also the super-judge in the dance reality show Dance +. Currently, he is up for his forthcoming film, Street Dancer, which will be released on January 24, 2020.
