One Indian pilot is missing; Pakistan says he is with them: MEA

The Ministry of External Affairs on Wednesday confirmed that one pilot of the Indian Air Force is missing. MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar confirmed that there was an air to air engagement between the Indian and Pakistani air forces on Wednesday morning.

Earlier in the morning, there were reports coming from Pakistan that Wing Commander Abhinandan was captured by the Pakistani security forces along the Line of Control.

During the media briefing, the Raveesh Kumar said, “The Pakistani aircraft was seen by ground forces falling from the sky on Pak side. In this engagement, we have unfortunately lost one MiG 21. The pilot is missing in action. Pak has claimed that he is in their custody. We are ascertaining the facts.”
