Petrol, diesel prices hiked after a day's pause; check latest rates

Fuel price hike: The petrol and diesel prices in India have been hiked again on Thursday after one-day hiatus. While petrol price has been surged by around 25-30 paise the diesel price has been hiked by 28-32 paise per litre, according to price notification by state-run oil companies.

In Mumbai, the petrol is being retailed at Rs 107.71 per litre while diesel was being sold at Rs 97.52 per litre. The petrol and diesel prices in the national capital have been increased by 25 and 30 paise, respectively.

In Delhi, the consumers will now have to pay Rs 101.64 for a litre of petrol, and Rs 89.87 for a litre of diesel.

Earlier on Tuesday, the petrol price was increased for the first time in 2 months after July 17 while diesel registered its fifth hike since September 24.

Rising Petrol Price in India Burn Holes in Pockets of Consumers -

It is worth mentioning here that state-owned companies including Indian Oil Corp (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL) had resumed daily price revision on September 24, ending the pause in rates hit since September 5.

The fuel price hike during May-July period took petrol prices to Rs 100-a-litre mark in more than half of the country. Similarly, diesel also crossed that level in at least three states.
