Amit Shah fake video case: In connection with Amit Shah's fake video case, the Delhi Police arrested Arun Reddy, a Congress worker in charge of the Spirit of Congress X handle.
Congress leader Manickam Tagore stated on Friday that Arun Reddy had been arrested by Delhi Police for more than 24 hours without giving any information or the FIR. "We demand Arun's immediate release. Tagore said adding "This authoritarian misuse of power by the regime is condemnable."
Earlier, on May 1, the Delhi Police summoned Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for questioning in connection with a doctored video of Amit Shah.
On Friday, the Hyderabad Police stated they had arrested five Telangana Congress Party social media workers in connection with the case. The accused were granted bail by a local court with the condition of submitting two sureties worth ₹10,000 each and appearing before the investigating officer every Monday and Friday till further orders.
According to a Hyderabad police statement, on April 27, a state BJP leader filed a complaint alleging that the Telangana Congress posted a morphed or fabricated video of Amit Shah's speech during his election campaign and public meeting in Siddipet, in violation of the IT Act.
The deliberate and wicked act of morphing the video is intended to mislead people and voters, instilling fear in OBC communities, according to the police, who filed a case under Sections 469 (forgery), 505(1)C (circulating rumour), and 171G (spreading false information), among others.
