A forensic team also visited the site and collected samples. The material will be examined to determine the nature of the flammable substance used in the attack.
Security around the BJP office has been increased, with additional police personnel deployed outside the premises.

He said all possible angles were being investigated and assured that a case would be registered against those responsible. Police teams are working to identify and arrest the accused.
The Sangrur incident comes months after another attack targeting a BJP office in Punjab. On April 1, 2026, a hand grenade was reportedly thrown outside the Punjab BJP headquarters in Sector 37, Chandigarh. The grenade landed near the parking area and damaged vehicles, although no one was injured.
The police later arrested several people in connection with that case. Investigators had also claimed to have found links to alleged handlers based abroad and the banned organisation Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). A chargesheet has also been filed in the case.
