PM Modi's '56-year-old young man' jibe at Rahul Gandhi as he praises Skyroot's Young Space innovators
PTC Web Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday appeared to take a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi while highlighting the success of Hyderabad-based space startup Skyroot Aerospace during his address ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
Without naming Rahul Gandhi, the Prime Minister said India's latest space achievement was driven by a team of young innovators with an average age of just 28 years, adding that he was "not talking about a 56-year-old young man." The remark was widely seen as an indirect reference to the Congress leader, who is 56 years old.

Speaking to the media before Parliament convened, PM Modi said India's youth are playing a key role in shaping the country's future, particularly in technology and innovation. Referring to Skyroot Aerospace's recent achievement, he said the startup's young team had demonstrated the talent and confidence of India's new generation.
"India's youth have started a new journey into space. I have been told the average age of the Skyroot team is only 28 years. Young people have achieved this success. I am not talking about a 56-year-old young man," the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister said India's growing success in the space sector reflects the country's rising global stature. He noted that only a few countries have achieved similar milestones through private space companies and said the achievement sends a strong message about the limitless potential of India's youth.
According to Modi, the country's scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs and innovators have worked together to make India a respected name in space technology.
PM Modi also pointed to several major developments achieved over the past month, saying they have strengthened India's position both nationally and internationally.
Among the milestones he mentioned were:
A major oil refinery dedicated to the nation in Rajasthan.
The inauguration of India's third semiconductor manufacturing plant.
The launch of one of the world's most advanced green hydrogen-powered trains with a powerful engine and long configuration.
The successful achievement by private space startup Skyroot Aerospace.
He said these accomplishments have become a source of pride for every Indian.
