He can even dance for votes’: Rahul Gandhi slams PM Modi at Bihar rally; watch video
“Modi ji can do anything for votes. If you ask him to act, he’ll act. If you tell him you’ll vote for him only if he dances, he’ll dance,” Rahul Gandhi said, triggering loud cheers from the crowd
PTC Web Desk: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a Mahagathbandhan election rally in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, on Wednesday, alleging that the Prime Minister “can go to any extent for votes, even dance on stage if asked.”
Rahul Gandhi’s fiery speech was delivered in the presence of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, the Mahagathbandhan’s projected chief ministerial candidate, and other opposition leaders.
“Modi ji can do anything for votes. If you ask him to act, he’ll act. If you tell him you’ll vote for him only if he dances, he’ll dance,” Rahul Gandhi said, triggering loud cheers from the crowd. The Congress leader accused the BJP of running the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar through “remote control,” saying that the Chief Minister was merely a symbolic figure while real power lay with the BJP leadership.
“I completely agree with Tejashwi Yadav — Bihar’s government is being operated through a remote control. Nitish Kumar is just the face, and the buttons are pressed by the BJP,” Rahul Gandhi told the gathering. “A few people sitting in Delhi decide what happens in Bihar. The BJP doesn’t believe in social justice or equality,” he added.
The Congress leader also reiterated his demand for a nationwide caste census, accusing the Modi government of ignoring the issue despite repeated calls from the opposition. “I told the Prime Minister inside Parliament that the country needs a caste census. He didn’t respond. The BJP is against social justice because it exposes the reality of inequality,” he said.
The Congress leader’s rally came amid BJP’s renewed attacks against him. Earlier in the day, BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya posted on X (formerly Twitter) a mock “missing poster,” claiming that Rahul Gandhi had been “missing for 59 days.” The BJP has repeatedly criticized Gandhi for allegedly remaining inactive during key campaign phases.
Bihar is set to go to polls in two phases on November 6 and 11, with results to be declared on November 14. The Mahagathbandhan, comprising the RJD, Congress, and Left parties, is contesting against the BJP-led NDA alliance.
