All schools, colleges and universities in Punjab to reopen on September 9

The schools will remain shut for students , however all the teachers are directed to be present from September 8 itself to assess the damage caused by floods.

PTC News Desk: In a significant development, all the schools, colleges and universities in Punjab will reopen on September 8 for teachers, However for students, the insitutions will reopen on September 9 as usual. 



While confirming the development, education minister Harjot Singh Bains in a post on social media said, "It will be mandatory for the administration of private schools to ensure that the school building and classrooms are completely secure so as to ensure the safety of students and teachers."


The teachers have been directed to remain present in schools on September 8 and oversee the cleaning process and and conduct the inspection of damages caused by the floods and inform the Deputy Commissioner about the same. 



The decision regarding closure of schools which are severely affected by the floods will be taken by the Deputy Commissioners and will be informed further in due course.
