Punjab shocker: Man runs over elder brother with tractor in Punjab’s Sangrur, dies on the spot
PTC Web Desk: In a shocking incident reported from Badbar village in Dhanoala area of Sangrur district, a man allegedly killed his elder brother by repeatedly running him over with a tractor on Thursday morning. The crime is suspected to have stemmed from an ongoing dispute over money and a tree in their agricultural field.
The deceased has been identified as Manjinder Singh (50), son of Jeet Singh. The accused, his younger brother Sukhwinder Singh (45), is currently absconding.
According to preliminary information, the two brothers had been engaged in a dispute for the past four days over an amount of nearly RS 1 lakh and an issue related to a tree standing in their field.
The victim’s wife, Paramjit Kaur, stated that her husband had left home in the morning to arrange a combine harvester for wheat harvesting. Shortly after he stepped out, Sukhwinder Singh allegedly approached from behind on a Swaraj tractor and ran him over.
She further alleged that the accused drove the tractor over Manjinder Singh four to five times, leading to his death on the spot.
Paramjit Kaur also claimed that when she rushed out after hearing the commotion and tried to save her husband, the accused attempted to run the tractor over her as well.
SHO Gurvinder Singh confirmed that a case has been registered in connection with the incident. Police teams have been deployed to trace and arrest the accused, who remains at large.
The investigation is currently underway.
