PTC Web Desk: The body of a seven-year-old boy, who had gone missing on Wednesday afternoon, was recovered from an abandoned house in Jagatpura village of Tarn Taran district, Punjab, triggering fear and shock among local residents. The child, identified as Manraj Singh, was a nursery student and a resident of the village. His body was found lying on the floor of a locked room in a vacant house, the police said.

Manraj’s family told the police that he was last seen around 3 pm, when he was taken from home by his uncle’s son. When the child failed to return by evening, family members and villagers launched a search across the area.

During the search, the boy’s body was discovered inside a deserted house. Straw was found scattered inside the room, while the child’s slippers were recovered near a chimney in an adjoining room. Foam was reportedly seen coming from the child’s mouth, raising serious concerns about foul play.

Manraj’s father, Satnam Singh, works as a daily-wage labourer. The child’s maternal aunt, Ramanpreet Kaur, alleged that the boy may have been murdered and his body dumped at the location.

On receiving information, the police reached the spot and took custody of the body. A forensic examination was initiated, and the body has been sent for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.

The police are examining all angles and have recorded the statements of family members.
