CM announces hike in compensation
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced hike in compensation for damaged crop. Earlier for 26–33% damage per acre, ₹2,000 was given; now Punjab will provide ₹10,000. For 33–75% damage, ₹6,800 was given earlier, which is now being increased to ₹10,000. For 75–100% damage, ₹20,000 will be provided, which includes ₹6,800 from the SDRF.
He further announced that the cheques will issued by October 15 for crop, livestock, and other losses. A special survey will be conducted. Farmers will receive ₹7,200 per acre for sand removal. Some lands have been washed away, for which ₹18,800 will be provided. In the same areas of Ferozepur and Fazilka, ₹4.5 crore has already been released from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.”

Party State President Aman Arora slams Congress over flood situation in Punjab
Discussions over the flood situation in Punjab are being held on the last day of Special Assembly Session. Meanwhile Aman Arora slammed Congress over widespread devastation caused due to the natural calamity. He said
During Congress’s five years in power, ₹103 crore was spent on cleaning drains, while under the AAP government, ₹227 crore was spent. A total of 1,044 check dams were built. He added that there are no records of the governments before that. Nineteen Poklen machines were purchased, but earlier governments had the work done through contractors of that time. He alleged that a ₹1,000 crore irrigation scam took place. At the same time, he highlighted the steps taken by the current government to deal with the floods, stressing that all officers and leaders worked collectively.
“We are not the kind who climb onto a bamboo cart for a day just for show and let our feet sink into the mud,” he remarked.

Last day of Punjab Assembly Special Session
PTC News Desk: The last day of Punjab Assembly's special session is likely to witness pandemonium as government will table 'rehabilitation of Punjab' bill.
The other Bills that will be tabled in the Vidhan Sabha include the Seeds (Punjab Amendment) Bill, 2025; Punjab Right to Business (Amendment) Bill, 2025; Punjab Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2025; and the Punjab Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2025.
Tensions are expected as the opposition may question the AAP government on flood management and law-and-order issues.
During the monsoon, 23 districts in Punjab were affected by floods, impacting 2,565 villages and around 3,90,000 people. The disaster resulted in 57 deaths, with four persons still missing. The state government has declared Punjab a disaster-affected region. The Central Government has extended financial aid of Rs 1,600 crore, while noting that Punjab already has Rs 12,000 crore in its State Disaster Relief Fund.
The Punjab Government will also table two crucial Bills relating to planned development and improving urban infrastructure in the Vidhan Sabha .
