PTC Web Desk: In what may be termed as a major security concern ahead of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann scheduled visit to Nangal town of Punjab’s Rupnagar district, several institutions received bomb threat emails.

According to reports, the emails, allegedly sent in the name of Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF), warned of explosions at the Nangal Court Complex and some banks in the town.

The threatening messages triggered immediate action from the local police, who launched search operations at the identified locations.

Security tightened, searches underway

Police teams began thorough checks at the Nangal Court Complex and nearby banks soon after the threats were reported. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rupnagar, Maninder Singh, also confirmed receiving the threat emails.

He said they were trying to trace the source of these emails. As per the protocol, all locations mentioned in the threats were thoroughly checked.

CM Mann’s rally scheduled in Nangal

The development comes just a day before Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is set to visit Nangal for a rally organised by the Aam Aadmi Party at the NFL Stadium.

Given the timing of the threats, security agencies have heightened vigilance in the area to ensure the safety of the event and the public.

Authorities are currently working to identify the origin of the emails and assess the credibility of the threats. No suspicious object had been reported till the last update.
