Punjab: Schools in Bathinda shut down due to CM Manns upcoming rally; check details
Bathinda, December 15: In the run-up to upcoming political rallies of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the authorities have issued orders for the closure of schools in Bathinda.
This decision comes ahead of a scheduled rally of Bhagwant Mann at Maur in Bathinda on December 16.
Six elementary, secondary, and high schools have been ordered to remain shut on December 16.
Education officials in the district have released a statement stating that security personnel deployed for the rally would be accommodated in government schools.
Following this, students have been granted a holiday on December 16. When contacted, District Education Officer Bhupinder Kaur refused to comment on the issue.
In the midst of these developments, Kuldeep Singh, a representative of the Bahujan Samaj Party, has raised questions directed at the Punjab Government. He sought explanations regarding the decision to grant leave to government school staff, presumably to accommodate security arrangements for the upcoming rally.
