PTC Web Desk:  A shocking murder case has come to the fore from Harimajra village in Punjab's Patiala district, where a woman has been accused of conspiring with her alleged lover to kill her husband after 17 years of marriage.

The police have registered an FIR at Ghanaur police station under Sections 103(1) and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). An investigation is currently underway.

According to the complaint filed by Moti Ram, a resident of Dandiyana village in Haryana's Ambala district and the victim's brother-in-law, Sukhwinder Singh was seriously injured and admitted to Rajindra Hospital in Patiala on July 20.

Due to the severity of his condition, doctors referred him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, Chandigarh. He had sustained severe head injuries and remained unconscious. Despite treatment, he later succumbed to his injuries.

Alleged affair led to frequent disputes

In his complaint, Moti Ram alleged that Sukhwinder Singh's wife, Harjit Kaur, was involved in an extramarital relationship with a man identified as Shinder Singh. He claimed that the two frequently met at the couple's home, leading to repeated arguments between the husband and wife.

The complainant further alleged that on the night of July 19-20, Harjit Kaur and Shinder Singh allegedly conspired to attack Sukhwinder Singh with a heavy object, causing fatal head injuries.

Police investigation underway

Based on the complaint, the police have registered a murder case and initiated a detailed investigation. Officials said further action will be taken after examining the evidence and completing the probe. The allegations are currently under investigation, and the accused's guilt is yet to be established in court.
