Verka hikes lassi price from Rs 30 to Rs 35, 800 ml packets to be replaced by 900 ml
The new packaging will be available in the markets starting today. In Delhi-NCR and other states, the same pack will be sold at ₹40.
PTC News Desk: Days after the Diwali festival, Verka has increased the price of its lassi packets across Punjab and Chandigarh from Rs 30 to Rs 35 along with a change in packaging. The 800 ml packaging has now been replaced with a 900 ml pack.
The new packaging will be available in the markets starting today. In Delhi-NCR and other states, the same pack will be sold at ₹40.
Earlier, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had announced a reduction in the prices of Verka milk and other products, stating that the revised rates would come into effect from September 22. He said the new prices would align with the Government of India’s GST 2.0 reforms, under which taxes on essential dairy products have been reduced.
Price cuts were to take effect from September 22
The Chief Minister had said that Verka, a trusted brand of the Milkfed farmers’ cooperative, had decided to significantly reduce prices across its popular milk and dairy product range. From September 22, consumers were to get Verka ghee cheaper by ₹30 to ₹35 per litre/kilogram.
In addition, the price of table butter was to be reduced by ₹30 per kg, unsalted butter by ₹35 per kg, processed paneer by ₹20 per kg, and UHT milk (standard, toned, and double-toned) by ₹2 per litre. Prices of other products such as ice cream (gallon, brick, and tub variants) were to be lowered by ₹10 per litre, while paneer prices were to be reduced by ₹15 per kg.
