Punjab government extends term of Sixth Pay Commission again

Punjab New Pay Scales: Punjab Government has extended the term of Sixth Pay Commission of the state for its employees and pensioners, yet again.

According to the orders issued in this regard, it was informed that term of the Punjab's Sixth Pay Commission has been extended up to February 28, 2021.

Punjab New Pay Scales: Punjab Government has extended the term of Sixth Pay Commission of the state for its employees and pensioners.

Therefore, the employees will have to wait for new pay scales in Punjab till the end of February.

The pay commission was headed by the former Chief Secretary Jai Singh Gill. It was supposed to give its recommendations by the end of December.

As per the state Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal's assurance, it was believed that the new pay scales in Punjab for employees would come into effect from January.

However, this has raged the employees, who alleged that the government was trying to delay the implementation of the new pay commission deliberately.
