PTC News Desk: The Sangrur police have suspended a Station House Officer (SHO) after residents of Gharachon village in Sangrur district reportedly welcomed a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team with flowers and distributed sweets as the agency searched the home of Rajbir Singh Ghuman, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

According to reports, late Tuesday night, an incident outside the residence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s OSD, Rajvir Singh Ghuman, in Gharachon village drew attention when Chaman Deep Singh Milkhi and his associates showered flowers on a CBI vehicle and welcomed the team with drums.

CBI teams conducted searches at eight locations across Chandigarh, Mohali, Gurdaspur, Ludhiana, Patiala, Sangrur and Jalandhar. During the searches, the teams seized laptops, mobile phones and documents. The raids continued until 11 pm.
The case names six persons: Rajbir Ghuman, Nitin Gohal, Jitin Gohal alias Raja, Romi Raja Mahajan, Bir Devinder and RS Nagra. The CBI described them as public servants, middlemen and associates and said two of the accused are public servants. The FIR also includes unknown public servants and private persons.
The action was taken following an order by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
