Punjab CM, PCA Stadium receive bomb threat: Security agencies on alert after threatening email; searches underway at multiple locations

PTC News Desk: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the PCA Cricket Stadium in Mohali have received a bomb threat, triggering an alert among security agencies.
The threat came through an email, following which security teams reached different locations and began investigations. Security arrangements at places linked to the Chief Minister, as well as at the PCA Cricket Stadium, are being reviewed. Bomb disposal squads and other security personnel are also carrying out search operations.
This is reportedly not the first time that Punjab has received such a threat. In the past, similar threatening messages targeting the Chief Minister and other important locations have also surfaced. Security agencies are currently examining the email and trying to identify the person behind the threat.
Threat to avoid watching matches at stadium
The email was reportedly received this morning and was also sent to the Chief Minister’s Office. The message, received at around 10:20 am, warned people not to go to the PCA Stadium to watch any cricket match until September 13.
The email reportedly contained threatening and communal language and claimed that an iPhone/Android bomb would be used at the stadium.
The threat comes just a day after the Sher-e-Punjab Cricket Tournament, organised by the Punjab government on the lines of the IPL, began at the stadium.
