PTC News Desk: Three friends in Nawanshahr reportedly consumed poisonous substance on Tuesday, triggering panic among the villagers. The friends took the drastic step after one of them reportedly sufered a massive loss in online gaming. 


The deceased has been identified as Paramjit Singh, 13. Meanwhile Maninder Singh (15) and Dilpreet Singh (21) are undergoing treatment and their condition is said to be critical. 


Village sarpanch Hardeep Singh said that the three boys were friends and lived together. One of them reportedly played a game on his mobile phone and lost a significant amount of money through it. Fearing their families, the three youths allegedly consumed a poisonous substance. 


Police officials said that family members have not alleged any foul play into the case so far. 



“We have checked the phones of the other two kids. But Dilpreet’s phone has been sent to the technical team to check what is there as it is locked. We could lose the data entirely if we open it on our own, so we have sent it to the technical team to check,” an official said.
