Punjab Police arrest three Bambiha gang operatives after their deportation from Malaysia
The three men are accused of having links with the Davinder Bambiha gang and were allegedly hiding in Malaysia.
PTC News Desk: In a significant breakthrough, Punjab Police on Wednesday arrested three operatives linked to Davinder Bambiha gang after they were deported from Malaysia and brought back to India. The operation was carried out by the Counter Intelligence Wing's Overseas Fugitive Tracking and Extradition Cell (OFTEC), with assistance from central agencies.
The accused have been identified as Jaspreet Singh alias Jas Behbal, Ajay Singh and Pavandeep Singh. They were reportedly wanted in multiple cases involving murder, extortion, explosives and other serious offences.
The three men are accused of having links with the Davinder Bambiha gang and were allegedly hiding in Malaysia. They were deported from Malaysia and brought back to India in an operation led by OFTEC with the support of central agencies.
The accused are wanted in connection with several serious criminal cases in Punjab. They are also accused of being involved in a conspiracy to carry out a hand grenade attack in Ludhiana.
Pakistan's ISI links under investigation
Investigators are also looking into their alleged links with Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI. These suspected connections are part of the cases being investigated against the three men.
All three were arrested immediately after arriving at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi following their deportation from Malaysia.
Punjab Police will now take them to Punjab for questioning and further investigation into their alleged links with organised crime networks and other criminal cases.
