Re-open Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor: SAD

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Thursday organised a special prayer meeting in Dera Baba Nanak to demand the reopening of the Sri Kartarpur Sahib corridor.

Senior Akali Dal leader and former minister Bikram Singh Majithia along with other SAD leaders of the Majha region attended the meeting and appealed to the Central Government to re-open the Sri Kartarpur Sahib corridor.

Divine hymns were recited by Ragi Jathas followed by ardas.

Bikram Singh Majithia said that though the religious places have been opened across the country, the Sri Kartarpur corridor was not being allowed to open.

All the religious places across the world have been opened, he said, demanding that the Sri Kartarpur Sahib corridor should be opened keeping in view the sentiments of the Sikhs.

Bikram Singh Majithia, along with Virsa Singh Valtoha, Gurbachan Singh Babehali, District President, Lakhbir Singh Lodhi Nangal MLA, Ravikaran Singh Kahlon, Harmandeep Singh Sandhu, Sukhbir Wahla, and Gurjit Bijliwal were present during the prayer meeting.

Bikram Singh Majithia also visited Gurdwara Sri Dera Sahib Dera Baba Nanak.

It may be recalled that the Sri Kartarpur corridor has been closed since March, following the coronavirus pandemic.

educareHowever, Pakistan, recently, reopened the Sri Kartarpur Sahib corridor for pilgrims but the Indian government has yet to reciprocate.
