Rs 10,000 reward for Railway staff who manually pushed a train

In the absence of electricity supply, the train had got stranded and around 40 Railway personnel, including coolies had to manually push the Mumbai Central-Lucknow Suvidha Express back to platform.

Western Railway (WR) has announced a reward of Rs 10,000 to the staff who was involved in pushing back the train manually from the dead end to the platform. The incident happened last Thursday.

Mumbai's divisional railway manager (WR) Mukul Jain said, "I have announced a group award of Rs 10,000 which will be shared among porters, Railway Police Force personnel, carriage and wagon and station staff."

"This is for the first time that such kind of hand-shunting of a train has been done," a senior Railway official had said.
