Satinder Satti expresses anguish over celebrities giving Gurmeet Bawa's last rites a miss

Gurmeet Bawa death: Punjabi singer Satinder Satti has expressed resentment over many celebrities not attending Gurmeet Bawa's cremation on Monday.

She said it was unfortunate that even those who called Gurmeet Bawa a motherly figure did not turn up to pay homage to the departed soul.

Punjabi folk singer Gurmeet Bawa cremated in Amritsar

"Only a few people were there for the last rites of Gurmeet Bawa and that no celebrities were present for her cremation except Puranchand Wadali, Jitender Kaur, Dalwinder Dayalpuri, and me," she said.

"Are we only for publicity? we will go only to the place where we will get publicity?" questioned Satinder Satti.

'Hek Di Rani' Gurmeet Bawa on Sunday passed away at the age of 77 in Amritsar. She took her last breath at IVI hospital in Amritsar.

Punjabi singer Harshadeep Kaur took to Twitter and wrote: "Saddened to hear about the demise of Legendary Folk Singer #GurmeetBawa ji... Her powerful -‘Hek’ will always reverberate in our hearts."

Harbhajan Mann wrote: '''Yaadan Reh Jaaniyan'. May the Punjabi folk queen rest in peace. You will always be missed Gurmeet Bawa ji."
