Security forces gunned down a militant in Central Kashmir: Security forces have gunned down a militant in an encounter in the Chadoora area of Central Kashmir's Budgam district.

In information, cross firing started suddenly after security forces launched a search operation in Zuhama village of Chadoora following information about the presence of militants, an army official said.

Militants started firing on the security personnel, they holed up in a house and it gunbattle turned into an encounter, the official said.

One militant has been killed so far while the operation is in progress, the official said.
