Punjab: Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday strongly condemned two incidents of sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in Fatehgarh Sahib district.
The SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal also demanded exemplary punishment for those guilty of these heinous crimes.

In a statement released here on Monday, the SAD President said that it was shocking that incidents of sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji were continuing unabated and that two such ghastly incidents had occurred in village Takhan Majra and Jalla villages of the Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab.

He said that though one of those guilty of perpetrating this crime had been nabbed on the spot, other guilty should also be traced without any delay and handed over exemplary punishments.
Sukhbir Singh Badal also castigated the Congress Government for failing to act against earlier acts of sacrilege including the 100-year-old Swaroop which had gone missing from a gurdwara in Patiala district.
He said had the Congress Government taken decisive action in the case and traced the culprits' such incidents of sacrilege would not have occurred in the neighbouring district of Fatehgarh Sahib.
