Charlie Kirks wife shares first statement after husbands death, says He gave his life for me, our nation, children
Her voice breaking, she continued: “My husband laid down his life for me, for our nation, for our children. May Charlie be received into the merciful arms of Jesus, our loving Savior.”
PTC News Desk: Erika Kirk, widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, delivered her first public statement on Friday, two days after her husband was fatally shot during a speech at Utah Valley University. Standing beside his vacant studio chair and clutching his cross necklace, she spoke through her grief while paying tribute to his life and legacy.
She expressed appreciation to first responders and the many supporters who have stood by her family in the wake of the tragedy. Erika also voiced heartfelt thanks to President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance for their support, noting, “Mr. President, my husband loved you,” as she reflected on the close bond Charlie shared with them.
“My husband laid down his life for me, for our nation, for our children,” Erika said, her voice filled with both sorrow and strength. “He showed the ultimate and true covenantal love.” Her words were framed by a sign that read, “May Charlie be received into the merciful arms of Jesus, our loving Savior.”
Her voice breaking, she continued: “My husband laid down his life for me, for our nation, for our children. May Charlie be received into the merciful arms of Jesus, our loving Savior.”
In her remarks, Erika shared a personal conviction of her late husband: “Charlie always said that if he ever ran for office his top priority would be to revive the American family.” She also reflected on a Bible verse that guided his life — Ephesians 5:25: ‘Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for her.’
