India stands with Israel with full conviction: PM Modi address Israels Knesset, condemns terrorism
During his official visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Knesset and said that the partnership between India and Israel is historic, important, and very strong, especially during uncertain global times.
PTC News Desk: Prime Minister on Wednesday reaffirmed India's unwavering support for Israel, underscoring the depth of bilateral ties, a shared zero-tolerance stance on terrorism, and expanding cooperation in trade, defence and technology.
During his official visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Knesset and said that the partnership between India and Israel is historic, important, and very strong, especially during uncertain global times. He also stressed the need for lasting peace and stability in West Asia. ????
PM Modi expressed sympathy for the victims of the October 7 attacks, when Hamas attacked Israeli civilians, killing more than 1,200 people during a local festival. He said he was sorry for every life lost and every family affected by the brutal terrorist attack. ????️
He strongly said that no reason can justify killing innocent people and repeated India’s firm policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism. He also mentioned India’s own experience with terrorism, including the 2008 Mumbai attacks, where Israeli citizens were among those killed.
Talking about the wider conflict, Modi referred to the Gaza Peace Initiative supported by the United Nations Security Council and said it offers hope for peace. He added that India supports efforts for a fair and lasting peace for everyone in the region, including resolving the Palestine issue. ????️
He concluded by saying that peace is not easy to achieve, but India stands with Israel and the global community to promote dialogue, peace, and stability with wisdom and humanity.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the strong cultural and social ties between India and Israel. He said Jewish communities have lived in India peacefully for many years without facing persecution or discrimination, while freely practicing their religion and being an active part of Indian society.
He also mentioned their shared history, noting that more than 4,000 Indian soldiers lost their lives in the region during World War I.
According to him, these examples show that the relationship between India and Israel is not just based on modern diplomacy, but also on deep mutual respect, shared values, and long-standing historical connections.
