Terrorist attack at police station in Pakistan; 3 cops killed, several injured
PTC News Desk: Terrorists crashed an explosive-laden car into a police station in Dera Ismail Khan, killing three policemen and injuring 16, according to ARY News on Tuesday.
The attackers, according to authorities, slammed a car packed with explosives into the main gate of DI Khan's Daraban police station. As a result, three cops were killed: Havaldar, Riyasat, and Sepoy Zulfiqar.
Meanwhile, two terrorists were shot by police after an exchange of fire as they tried to enter the premises.
As a result of the attack, the roof of the police station fell.
The injured were taken to DI Khan Hospital, according to the police, who also stated that Daraban Tehsil has been completely cordoned off. According to ARY News, large police contingents have arrived on the scene.
Following the terror attack, scheduled papers at educational institutions in Tehsil Draban have been cancelled.
According to ARY News, this is not the first time a police station in Dera Ismail Khan has been targeted. Earlier in October, militants used hand grenades and rockets to attack a police station in KP's Dera Ismail Khan region.
Two officers were injured in the attack on Dera Ismail Khan's Hathala police station. The police, however, repulsed the attack and forced the attackers to flee.
