Raghbir Singh Bharowal, 42, originally from Punjab and living in Surrey, Canada, has died in a motorcycle accident in Peru.

Raghbir was a father of three and worked as a licensed Canadian immigration consultant. He had been travelling alone on a motorcycle world tour for the past few weeks, which he named the ‘Flying Khalsa World Tour’.

He shared his last short video from Peru on social media three days before the accident. After that, his family lost contact with him.

Surrey-based journalist Gurpreet Singh Sahota said the family became worried when they could not reach him for several days and started making inquiries. On Tuesday, they were informed about his death.

His father, Pritam Singh Bharowal, who lives in Surrey but is currently in Ludhiana for a wedding, said Raghbir had started his world tour on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle three months ago and planned to visit 31 countries.

He was supposed to return to Canada for a few days before travelling to Argentina. “Three days ago, he called to tell us he was coming back to Canada, but after that we could not contact him,” his father said. “We reached out to embassies and checked his GPS location, which showed he was last in Trujillo, Peru. We contacted the local police there, who informed us early this morning that he had died in an accident.”

Raghbir had moved to Canada after completing his BTech in civil engineering from Guru Nanak Engineering College in Ludhiana. He later completed his MTech in Windsor, Ontario, and became a Canadian citizen.
