PTC Web Desk: Two Indian students tragically drowned while hiking with four other friends from India at a popular tourist spot in Scotland. The incident took place near the Linn of Tummel, a scenic area where two rivers converge, on Wednesday evening.

The bodies of the Indian students, identified as 26-year-old Jitendranath Karuturi and 22-year-old Chanhakya Bolisetti, had been recovered by rescue teams. Both of them, along with their friends, were pursuing Master's degrees at Dundee University.

A police official stated that the incident occurred at Linn of Tummel, located north of Pitlochry, and confirmed that there do not appear to be any unusual circumstances surrounding the deaths.

An official from the Indian High Commission in London confirmed that the students' bodies were discovered downstream. The Indian Consulate General has been in touch with the families of both students, and a consular representative has met a student living in the UK. Dundee University has offered its full support during this difficult time.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted on Friday, after which arrangements will be made to repatriate the bodies to India.
