US: Indian man beheaded after dispute over washing machine in Dallas, accused arrested
The assailant beheaded Nagamallaiah and shockingly kicked his severed head and dumping it in a trash container
PTC Web Desk: In a shocking incident, a 50-year-old Indian man, Chandra Nagamallaiah, originally from Karnataka, was brutally murdered at a motel in Dallas following a dispute with his employee. The incident took place on Wednesday when Nagamallaiah reportedly asked his worker, identified as 37-year-old Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, not to use a broken washing machine. Tension escalated after Nagamallaiah asked another staff member to translate his instructions instead of directly speaking to Cobos-Martinez, which allegedly angered him.
Authorities said Cobos-Martinez then retrieved a machete and attacked Nagamallaiah, stabbing him several times. The victim tried to escape toward the motel’s front office, but the accused chased him down.
During the confrontation, Nagamallaiah’s wife and 18-year-old son attempted to intervene but were pushed aside. Moments later, the assailant beheaded Nagamallaiah and shockingly kicked his severed head.
A disturbing video circulating online shows Cobos-Martinez picking up the victim’s head and dumping it in a trash container. Police arrested him shortly after, as he was found leaving the dumpster area with blood-stained clothes and carrying the machete.
The Indian Consulate in Houston expressed deep condolences over the “tragic and brutal” killing, assuring support to the victim’s family. “We are in touch with the family and extending all possible assistance. The accused is in Dallas Police custody, and we are closely monitoring the case,” the Consulate posted on X.
Cobos-Martinez has been charged with capital murder. According to reports, he has a criminal history in Houston, including arrests for auto theft and assault.
