Chandigarh’s Bapu Dham Colony reports 5 new cases of coronavirus; UT tally rises to 238

Chandigarh on Sunday reported 5 new cases of coronavirus from Bapu Dham Colony in Sector 26, taking the total count of Union Territory to 238. All the new cases reported are from Bapu Dham Colony in Sector 26, which has been emerged as an epicenter of the virus in the UT. Among the new cases found positive are four women—aged 23, 30, 30, and 37— and an 18-year-old boy. The City reported 14 cases of coronavirus on Saturday. All of them were reported from Bapu Dham Colony. Highest ever spike of 6654 COVID19 cases in the last 24 hours Three of the 14 cases reported on Saturday were detected by the on-site sampling center in Bapu Dham, where teams from the GMSH-16 and the GMCH-32 are taking samples of the suspected patients. Meanwhile, as many as 115 samples have been taken at the on-site sampling center, 57 by the GMSH and 58 by the GMCH. Of the total 238 cases, only 56 are the active cases of coronavirus.
