Coronavirus positive cases in India rise to 27,892; death toll 872

The total number of coronavirus (COVID 19) cases in India has climbed to 27,892 after 1396 new positive cases were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Monday morning. Out of 27,892 cases, 6185 have been cured and discharged while the death toll has reached 872 after 48 new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare was quoted by news agency ANI as saying: "India's total number of Coronavirus positive cases rise to 27,892 (including 20835 active cases, 6185 cured/ discharged/ migrated and 872 deaths)." Among the new deaths, 19 fatalities have been reported from Maharashtra, 18 from Gujarat, 4 from Madhya Pradesh, 2 from West Bengal and one each from Punjab, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Of the 872 deaths, Maharashtra is on the top with 342 deaths, followed by Gujarat at 151, Madhya Pradesh at 103, Delhi at 54, Rajasthan at 33 and Andhra Pradesh at 31. Likewise, Punjab has reported 18 deaths so far. Coronavirus has claimed 6 lives in Jammu and Kashmir, 4 in Kerala while Jharkhand and Haryana have recorded 3 COVID-19 deaths each.
