While the nation is panicked over the coronavirus infection (COVID 19), two suspected cases have been reported at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh. PGIMER spokesperson Dr. Ashok Kumar stated that two men have been quarantined in the isolation ward.
Coronavirus in Chandigarh
The doctors stated that a resident of Sector 50, has a travel history to Indonesia and Singapore last week with his family. He had reported at the institute with some symptoms of COVID 19. Similarly, another person has been identified as a resident of Sector 29. He has also a travel history to Bali. Meanwhile, the doctors stated that both the patients are stable and under the monitoring. Meanwhile, the blood samples of both the suspected patients have been sent to Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences for tests.
Havoc of Coronavirus
The novel coronavirus was first identified in December last year in Wuhan, a city of China. It has spread across 73 countries and territories, with more than 90,000 cases reported worldwide. China has reported around 3,012 deaths with 80,409 confirmed cases. However, the death toll across the world has risen to 3,115. The WHO has also warned that in the future it could classify the incident as a global pandemic.

Coronavirus in India
India has reported 28 confirmed cases so far, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan stated on Wednesday. Meanwhile,
the three residents of Kerala, who were tested positive and were under isolation have been treated in Kerala hospitals and by February 20, all of them were discharged. Recently on Monday, two fresh cases were reported from one each from Delhi and Telangana.
