CoronaOutbreak: Gyms, clubs, cinemas and shopping malls to remain closed in Punjab

Amid growing concerns over coronavirus pandemic, the Government of Punjab has declared that all the gyms, clubs, shopping malls, and cinema halls will remain closed till March 31, 2020. As per the sources, the announcement was made by the Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu. Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, the Punjab Government has taken this decision so that the people do not gather at the huge gathering places so that the spread of the virus can be prevented. Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh took to Twitter to announce that the schools will remain closed in the state. He wrote: "Ordered closing down of all schools & colleges till Mar 31 in the light of #Covid19. Ongoing school examinations will, however, continue. State machinery is working round the clock to prevent an outbreak. Urge all to avoid crowding at public places & take necessary precautions."

Schools closed in Chandigarh too

Keeping in view that the spread of Coronavirus (COVID 19) and in the interest of health and safety of students as a precautionary measure, the Department has decided that all the Government and Private schools of the UT Chandigarh shall remain closed with immediate effect till March 31, 2020.
