Will coronavirus lockdown extend? Here's what Delhi and Maharashtra has to say

Amid speculations over complete lockdown again in India to combat the spread of coronavirus, Maharashtra and Delhi have dismissed speculations over further extending the lockdown in the respective states. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray stated that the lockdown will not be re-announced but people need not crowd anywhere and follow the instructions given by the government.  Likewise, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain was asked if there have been discussions to extend lockdown in the national capital. To this, he replied: "No, the lockdown will not be extended." Maharashtra is the worst-hit coronavirus state with around 97,648 cases out of which 47,980 are active cases and 46,078 are cured and discharged and 3590 deaths. On the other hand, Delhi is having 34,687 cases out of 20,871 are active cases while 12,731 have been cured and discharged and 1085 deaths. India records over 10,000 COVID-19 cases and 396 deaths in a day Recently, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia stated that there could be around 5.5 lakh cases of coronavirus in the national capital by the end of July. By June 30, we will reach 1 lakh cases and 15,000 beds will be required. By July 15, there will be 2.25 lakh cases and 33,000 beds will be needed. By July 31, 5.5 lakh cases expected and 80,000 beds will be needed.” -PTC News
