Coronavirus cases in Punjab rise to 3832; death toll 92; recovered 2636

The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 3832 after 217 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Friday evening. The death toll in the state has increased to 92 after 9 new deaths were reported from the state. Of 9 new deaths, 2 each were reported from Amritsar and Jalandhar while one each from Moga, Barnala, Sangrur, Patiala and Tarn Taran. According to the media bulletin issued by the Punjab Health Department, Amritsar reported 35 new cases of coronavirus while 79 new cases were reported from Jalandhar. Ludhiana reported 19 new cases each while Sangrur reported 18 new cases of COVID-19. Mohali reported 11 new cases while 8 new cases were reported from Patiala, 7 from Kapurthala, 8 from Pathankot, 6 from Muktsar and 5 from Faridkot and Hoshiarpur each. Three new cases were reported from Bathinda, Barnala and Ferozepur each while Tarn Taran and Fatehgarh Sahib reported 2 new cases each. Gurdaspur, Ropar and Fazilka reported 1 new case each. Sample testing doubled from about 4,000 to 8,000 daily in Delhi A total of 66 patients were declared cured and discharged. Of 66, 33 were from Amritsar, 18 from Pathankot, 5 from Mohali, 3 from Gurdaspur, 2 Fazilka and one each from Patiala, Ropar, Muktsar, Bathina and Kapurthala. India records 380 coronavirus deaths in 24 hours, total cases cross 3.43 lakh Currently, Amritsar is on the top of the tally with 733 cases of coronavirus followed by Ludhiana and Jalandhar at 489, and Mohali at 202. Meanwhile, the Coronavirus tally of SBS Nagar has increased to 121 while the number of coronavirus cases in Faridkot has spiked to 94.
