New Delhi, March 18: Covid-19 cases in India continues to decline as the country reported 2,528 fresh infections in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. As per the latest update, India's active caseload currently stands at 29,181, accounting for 0.07 percent of the total cases. Meanwhile, the daily positivity rate and the weekly positivity rate, both were recorded at 0.40 percent on Friday. With 3,997 new recoveries in the last 24 hours, the cumulative recoveries in India jumped to 4,24,58,543, with a recovery rate of 98.73 percent.

India's Covid cases continue to decline On the other hand, a total of 149 people succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, taking the country's death toll to 5,16,281. So far, a total of 78.18 crore tests have been conducted. In the last 24 hours, 6,33,867 tests were done. More than 9 lakh (9,04,700) children between the ages of 12 and 14 have been vaccinated against Covid-19 thus far. This age group's vaccination drive began on March 16, and children are receiving the Corbevax vaccine. According to the ministry, the government has delivered more than 183.27 crore (1,83,27,25,060) vaccine doses to States and UTs through the free-of-charge channel and direct state procurement category. The ministry added that more than 17.22 crore (17,22,25,196) Covid vaccination doses are still available with the States and UTs to be administered.
