Day 2: SAD and SGPC on 48-hour dharna in Amritsar Shiromani Akali Dal and Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee on Thursday launched a 48-hour long dharna in Amritsar. The dharna is launched against the alleged distortion of the history of the Sikhs Guru in class XII, PSEB history books. Sukhbir Singh Badal sat on the dharna for the first 24 hours. On Friday, November 2, SGPC president, Gobind Singh Longowal would lead the dharna. They performed ‘ardas’, and headed to the Town Hall. They began their dharna to demand an immediate apology from the Congress government for showing disrespect to Sikh gurus in the school history books. During the Dharna, Sukhbir Badal said that they would not tolerate any distortion made to the Sikh history.
