Cannes: Sonam Kapoor requests custom outfit from influencer Nancy Tyagi | Watch reaction
PTC news Desk: Following the widespread success of the influencer's Cannes ensembles, Sonam Kapoor asked Nancy Tyagi to design similar ensemble for her. Nancy posted a response on her Instagram stories to the actor.
The Delhi-based influencer made waves on the internet when she wore two glitzy ensembles that she designed and sewn to represent India on the international stage.
Nancy chose a 20kg powder pink gown with a lot of frills for her first appearance in Cannes. Her next ensemble for Cannes featured a saree that she had once again embroidered. The materials for her attire came from Delhi's neighborhood markets. Reposting Nancy's video of her constructing a saree for Cannes, Sonam Kapoor captioned it with, "Best outfit in Cannes. Make me something," and mentioned Nancy.
"Thank you so much, @sonamkapoor. It would be amazing to create something special for you one day!" was the influencer from Delhi's response to Sonam.
Rhea Kapoor, a stylist and producer, and Sonam's sister, also offered feedback on Nancy's video. She wrote, "Nancy, I love it."
"Stepping onto the red carpet at the 77th Cannes Film Festival as a debutant feels surreal," remarked Nancy Tyagi following her debut at the festival in a pink gown with frills. This pink gown, which took 30 days to make, used 1000 meters of fabric, and weighs more than 20 kg, is the result of my heart and soul. Although the road has been difficult, every minute has been worthwhile. I'm ecstatic and really grateful for all of your love and support. This is a dream come true, and I sincerely hope you are as amazed by my invention as I have been motivated by your support. I sincerely appreciate your help! (sic)."
She then revealed the process behind creating her veiled saree as well as her second look from the international film festival. "This is my second ensemble from the Cannes Film Festival, which I designed and wore for a special occasion. This outfit consists of a saree with fine hand embroidery. I (sic) painstakingly made and assembled each item," wrote Nancy.
This year, Bollywood celebrities including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kiara Advani, Urvashi Rautela, and others walked the red carpet in addition to a number of influencers making their Cannes debuts.
