Mental health alert! Looking forward to living a stress-free life? Eating a diet rich in fruit and vegetables may help you.

As per the study and reserach, eating a diet rich in fruit and vegetables is associated with less stress.

The study, published in Clinical Nutrition, looked at the relationship between fruit and vegetable intake and stress levels in over 8,600 Australians aged 25 to 91 who were part of the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute's Australian Diabetes, Obesity, and Lifestyle (AusDiab) project.

The study found that persons who ate at least 470 grams of fruit and vegetables per day had 10% lower stress levels than those who ate less than 230 grams. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends consuming at least 400 grams of fruits and vegetables every day.

Rising stress levels and mental health challenges

As modern life becomes increasingly fast-paced and demanding, rising stress levels and mental health challenges are becoming more prevalent. Various factors contribute to rising stress levels, including work pressure, financial worries, relationship problems, and societal expectations.

Encouraging healthy lifestyle habits, such as regular physical activity, adequate sleep, and nutritious diet, can support overall well-being and resilience and can reduce stress levels and mental health challenges.

Fruits & Veggies - A Mood Changer

Fruits and vegetables contain critical vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that promote general health and well-being. A diet rich in colorful produce can help nourish your body by supplying it with the nutrients it requires to function properly.

Incorporating a variety of fruits and vegetables into your meals ensures that you get a wide range of nutrients, which promotes good health and vigor.

Research indicates that a diet high in fruits and vegetables can improve mental health by lowering stress and improving mood. Certain fruits and vegetables include substances that might improve mood, such as serotonin-boosting bananas and stress-relieving leafy greens.

Incorporating these mood-boosting items into your diet will help you feel more calm and resilient in the face of daily challenges.
