India condemns attack by mob on Nankana Sahib Gurdwara in Pakistan

An angry mob surrounded the Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, the shrine which was built at the birthplace of Sikh faith founder Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Pakistan on Friday. Meanwhile, huge number of people joined the protest that lasted till evening and raised the slogans. While condemning the attack on Nankana Sahib, Minstry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Raveesh Kumar took to twitter and wrote: "India strongly condemns vandalism at the holy Nankana Sahib Gurudwara in Pakistan and calls upon Pakistan to take immediate steps to ensure the safety, security and well being of the Sikh community." Also, Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal also condemned the attack. He said, "Mob attack on Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib, birth place of Guru Nanak Dev ji, is a despicable act and I urge PM Narendra Modi ji to take it up with Pakistan PM Imran Khan. Attack on Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib has shown its horrible face. I want to ask Captain Amarinder Singh and Congress how can they oppose PM Narendra Modi’s noble humanitarian gesture of giving rights to such persecuted minorities!" In anoother tweet, Harsimrat Kaur Badal wrote: "True face of Pak stands exposed! First Sikh minor girl kidnapped and forcibly married. Now kidnappers attacking victim family and holy shrine Gurdwara Nankana Sahib. I urge PM Narendra Modi ji and External Affair Minister Dr S Jaishankar to ensure Pak stops this barbarity and ensure safety of Pak Sikh community." -PTC News-
